Yoga for Each Zodiac Sign

Yoga Is in! Transforming body, mind and spirit all around the world. Opening channels of awareness within ourselves and the world as we know it. If you haven't tried it, what are you waiting for? If you have tried it and weren't really into, relax, there's so many styles and teachers out there that can help you find your yoga niche.


Our zodiac sun signs tells us so much about how we interact with the world in general and it also can help us decide what yoga style works best with our personality. Below I will go through each sun sign and give suggestions on what yoga style might just be your new favorite mind/body exercise.


Aries:

Aries, may we know them and love them. These fire cracker signs are the pioneers of the zodiac. They love anything new and daring. They have energy for days and are often the life of the party. Acro Yoga would be an awesome way for them to test their strength, show off their strength and mingle with other people. Aries enjoy chatting and connecting with others, so this style of yoga allows them to get the benefits of stretching, strengthening and concentration, while also allowing conversation.


Taurus:

The traditional, hardworking yet sometimes lazy sign of the zodiac. Taurus is often hard at work in their daily lives and enjoy relaxing when possible, enjoying the lux life. A restorative class with a mix of hot rocks, essential oils and adjustments will make Taurus feel right at home. Taurus is all about the 5 senses, and mixing in those small but important details will have them coming back for more.


Gemini:

Their mind never stops. They have so many thoughts in that twin brain and need a way to acknowledge all of them. A meditation class would do the Gemini some good. Yoga is a style of moving meditation, but to be one with your thoughts and to have a guide to assist and a reminder to stop the racing mind is something totally different and beneficial. Give it a few tries before you judge it Gemini.


Cancer:

Cancers are the emotions of the zodiac, they are ruled by the water element. Kundalini is a practice that focuses on balancing the chakras and can help cancer find balance within their emotions. Kundalini also uses chants that can be a beneficial practice for cancers to let go of some of those emotions vocally.


Leo:

Leos are the power sign, they are known to want to show their strength and wear it on their sleeve. Power Yoga can challenge them, help channel their strength and have them coming back for more. Being able to sweat and power through moves will give them the satisfaction of a workout, while also the benefits of the poses.


Virgo:

Virgos are the perfectionist of the zodiac. They like to make sure that everything is being done the correct way. This is why they should try Iyengar yoga. Iyengar focuses on alignment in each pose which Virgos are sure to enjoy. Plus props are used to ensure that each person is able to do the best variation suitable for their body's current capabilities.


Libra:

Libra is all about balance and being sure that everything is equal. Vinyasa Yoga goes through a flow where you do poses on one side, go through a vinyasa flow and then complete them on the other side. The Libra will feel complete knowing that what they have done on one side, will soon be done just the same on the other.


Scorpio:

Scorpios are pretty serious people and expect to get the most out of anything they set out to do. Ashtanga Yoga will provide them with step by step moves, adjustments into those moves and verification to progress to the next level of the practice. The rules and power of this practice will have the Scorpio dedicated to getting better each time.


Sagittarius:

Sagittarius are free spirits who enjoy trying new things, they would enjoy a newer style of yoga called Arial yoga. This will provide them with fun, new experiences, laughs and milestones. All things that a Sagittarius enjoys.


Capricorn:

Capricorn is a hardworking sign like Taurus, who enjoys analyzing. They enjoy a solid foundation which is why they should try hatha yoga. A very traditional style of yoga similar to vinyasa, that takes you through breath and movement that includes firm footing and holding poses while taking deep breaths in order to reap their benefits.


Aquarius:

This sign is known as the cool zodiac sign. The ones who are always hip to new things, but don’t want to seem like they’re too hip. They enjoy experimenting with out of the ordinary activities and expand on what they already know. Aquarius should try attending yoga workshops where they can learn more in depth about yoga, mingle with others who are learning and dive deep into subjects such as; crystals, learning a yoga routine, focusing on one section of the body or working with partners. It’s important for Aquarius to be able to share and bounce ideas off others, so joining a weekend workshop would be fun for them.


Pisces:

This free flowing sign should try flow yoga. It is how it sounds and makes yoga look and feel more like a dance, something that this dreamy sign would enjoy. Usually this style of yoga is paired with music and allows for expression in each pose. Pisces would also benefits from mixing dancing and yoga in their own space and allowing room for creation.
